Opportunity for NC Artists: The Brightwork Fellowship at Anchorlight

Anchorlight, a studio and gallery space on Bloodworth in downtown Raleigh, is now accepting applications for the 2023 Brightwork Fellowship. From the Anchorlight website

The application deadline is August 15th. Visual artists who have lived in North Carolina for at least a year and commit to living in North Carolina for the duration of the fellowship are eligible to apply. Check out other frequently asked questions here.

The current Brightwork Fellow is Precious D. Lovell. Lovell is a textile artist whose work has been displayed in the US and internationally. Of her work, Lovell says, “I see cloth and clothing as a visual language. As I explore this language I try to discover a vocabulary that speaks of the extraordinary within these ordinary materials, uncovering stories through color, texture, pattern and form.”
