How are we already halfway through July?! Summer comes at you fast, man. Between beach trips, ice cream cones, and dodging afternoon thunderstorms, I hope you’ve made time for some of the Triangle’s most fun weekend events!
Here’s a handful of our favorite things going on around the Triangle this weekend:
Pork, Pickles, and Peanuts @ Duke Homestead (Saturday)
2828 Duke Homestead Road in Durham, 10:00-3:00
This extremely tasty event includes BBQ and Pie contests. Guests can taste the BBQ and pick a People’s Choice winner of their own. Enjoy live music, food, and visit local vendors set up on the festival grounds. At the Duke House, costumed interpreters will demonstrate historical cooking methods. BBQ and other concessions will be available for purchase.

Makers Market @ Bond Brothers East (Sunday)
602 E Chatham St in Cary, 3:00-6:00
Freckled Hunnies and Bond Brothers Eastside are hosting a makers market with local vendors, live music, beer, and food! Support local!
Speed Dating @ Halcyon (Saturday)
517 W Jones St in Raleigh, 7:00-9:00
Our events offer a fresh alternative to speed dating and matchmaking. We don’t find anything romantic about whistles, name-tags or over-the-top party trimmings typically found at singles events so we have done away with them. Creating an atmosphere that is at once casual and comfortable. It’s what we call cheeky-chic!
Meet a partner to attend concerts, music festivals, bar crawls or fitness classes. Someone who shares your passions and interests – from sports to yoga – all in a setting just your speed.

The menu will feature brunch favorites with a Willard spin, like a Hot Honey Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, Shrimp & Grits, Eggs Benedict, and an incredible Stuffed French Toast with brie and cinnamon apples. Pianist Jonathan Markow and his trio will provide musical entertainment during brunch, and the full Willard bar will be available so you can pair drinks with your meal. $45 per person (not including beverages, sales tax, and gratuity). Make your reservation here.
Venus Flytrap Comedy @ Ruby Deluxe (Sunday)
