Welcome to the weekend! There are some pretty great things happening in the Triangle this weekend that I can’t wait to tell you about, but first:

A little rain couldn’t keep y’all from showing up for reproductive rights on Sunday! Liz Grandchamp’s The Shop raised over $3,000 for Planned Parenthood and The Carolina Abortion Fund, thanks to all you lovely Raleigh folks! You can read more about Grandchamp and her business here.

This weekend promises to be chock-full of fun events, rain or shine. Take a look at some of our favorites below:

Oyster Fest @ The Durham Hotel (Friday and Saturday)

The Durham Hotel – 315 E Chapel Hill Street

Join us Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, on the Roof to celebrate North Carolina oysters at The Durham’s first annual Oyster Fest. Come up to the Roof 5-10pm both nights for oysters, cocktails, and live music. Grab chilled favorites like oysters on the half shell and lobster rolls from the inside bar till 10pm. We will fire up the open-air grill for grilled oysters and other hot bites from 6-9pm.

Both nights from 5-7pm, you can watch oyster shucking demonstrations from experts Locals Seafood and speak with our friends at NC Oyster Trail about North Carolina’s exciting aquaculture. Both nights from 7:30-9:30pm, the Al Strong Collective will perform New Orleans-style jazz live on the Roof.

This event is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be for individual purchase.

Charcuterie and Acrylic Pour Workshop (Saturday)

Wine & Design – 5456 Apex Peakway

Get Your Art Buzz On at Wine & Design and learn how to create a yummy charcuterie plate and acrylic pour charcuterie beach board! No artistic talent needed, just the desire to have fun! We take the time to guide you step by step to complete your very own take-home charcuterie and acrylic pour charcuterie board.

The first half of the workshop will include Graze Charcuterie Boards by Alanah Honeycutt! Come learn hands-on how to style a delicious charcuterie plate with GRAZE! Graze is a local charcuterie company based out of Raleigh that serves the Triangle!

After the GRAZE Charcuterie Workshop, enjoy your snack while we create a “beach-inspired” Acrylic Pour Charcuterie Board! This workshop will take about 1-1.5 hours. Includes 9×14 wood board, customized name/date stencil, acrylic paints, stain and all paint pouring materials. Your board will be very wet after class and will need to stay at the studio to dry. Once dried, Wine & Design will apply a food-safe clear epoxy resin on your board to seal it for you to use and add a little extra shine!
