Self-Acceptance and Bad B*tches: An Evening at Katie May’s

We’re so excited to partner with Katie May’s boutique for a Bad B*tch Summer Style Event on Wednesday, May 18th at 2859 Jones Franklin Road. Join us for champagne, shopping, and mingling with other bad b*tches! This is a free event but registration is required. Sign up here – we can’t wait to see you!

We had the opportunity to get to know Katie May, the president, founder, and executive buyer of Katie May’s boutique, and we’re excited for you to get to know her, too! Katie is an incredible example of resiliency and confidence. She started her business as Sept&Co. in 2016 at just 20 years old. During that time, the boutique clothing store has evolved to the point of powerfully rebranding into Katie May’s: “My name, my rules”, she says.

Forging a New Path with Katie May’s

In a recent post reintroducing herself to the community, Katie detailed her struggles with the fakeness of social media, her father’s debilitating illness, and an incredible weight loss journey beginning in 2020. In losing 164 pounds over the last two years, she says the biggest change was mental. “I started to recognize my worth. I lost friends, but I made new ones.”

She goes on to describe the emotional toll of allowing others to ignore your boundaries. “People will treat you in the way that you allow them to treat you. When you realize that…your entire perspective will change.”

Katie’s story of emerging self-empowerment and recognizing the “big fat f*cking LIE” of social media fueled the new fashion direction she’s taken with the store. She writes, “It’s time to stop being afraid of what other people think. It’s time to change the narrative and start dressing in a way that sets your soul on fire.” We couldn’t agree more.

Ready to meet the “unfiltered, imperfect, unapologetically and authentically” Katie May? Then we’ll see you on Wednesday!
