“You’re thinking I’m crazy, oh I’m CRAZY!” – @seth_coley, a 24-year-old content creator, professional extreme sports athlete and aspiring stuntman

Born and raised in Cary, NC, Seth Coley graduated from Apex High School in 2015, and UNC Wilmington in 2019. He spends about 3 months out of the year in Cary, and the rest of the year lives in a decked out sprinter van.

As a child he traveled to Jamaica with his parents where he was first introduced to cliff jumping at the world famous Rick’s Cafe

“It’s a really, really famous bar, restaurant, and cliff jumping destination. I started there jumping off 10-foot ledges at 8,” said Coley.

The locals took Coley under their wings and while he was just an 8-year-old, taught him how to do a 25 foot dive.

When the family returned back to Cary they enrolled Coley in local dive teams. Eventually, he would train for the Junior team at Duke University during his high school. Coley was even nationally ranked in springboard diving as a teen.

“People love basketball, people love baseball, I just loved doing flips and being airborne,” added Coley.

There are a couple of cliff jumping spots in North Carolina, but Coley and his crew never geotag a location for safety reasons and to preserve the land.

“I’ve had several friends pass away in 2021 because of careless acts, but that’s also an extreme sport. It is what it is in my career,” said Coley.

A lot of time and effort goes into making Coley’s viral videos. About 3 hours is spent before a shoot making sure the stunt is safe to execute.

Coley finds his cliff jumping locations by going on Google Maps and zooming in on locations he finds intriguing.

If you’re wondering what’s next for Coley, well he just received his skydiving coaching license so if you’re interested in learning, hit him up! He also highly recommends Paraclete XP in Raeford, NC — America’s largest indoor skydiving wind tunnel!
