What’s Happening in the Triangle April 30th – May 1st

Hello, Triangle lovelies! What a week, huh? As I’m writing this, it looks like it might be a touch rainy this weekend but we’re not going to let that get us down, are we? There’s too much to do to let rain get in the way! Check out these awesome things happening in the Triangle this weekend, April 30th and May 1st (MAY ALREADY?!).

The FLART Market (Saturday) 

Flea and art market – a Flart market! On Saturday from 11-4 at 718 Iredell Street in Durham, enjoy art, food, and music with other flartists. These markets feature live music and performances from local artists, local food trucks, and 60+ local vendors showcasing a variety of handmade, locally sourced, and vintage goods. Can’t attend this one? There are plenty of future dates throughout the year!

Community InvestFest (Sunday)

Starting at 2:00 on Sunday at 812 Liberty in Durham, join Wall Street Juniors for a community-wide clean-up and sign dedication to honor the legacy of our community legend found on legacy lane.

Tour the community to see all the signs and learn more about community organizations in the area to find ways you can invest in your community! This is an event for the entire family!

NC Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate Festival (Saturday) 

April 30th from 1PM-6PM at Lafayette Village, a variety of wines will be showcased from different regions. There will be live music and multiple vendors in the courtyard.  Explore the unique shops at Lafayette Village as you sample wines, cheeses, and chocolates throughout this beautiful, locally-owned shopping village. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the music & fun atmosphere.  Admission tickets start at $39.99 plus tax and up.

Flights & Bites (Sunday) 

Sunday May 1 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm, try some delicious food from Matt Fern’s (ish) delicatessen with perfectly paired wines at The Wine Feed at 602 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. Buy tickets here where you can choose your seating time and take a look at the wines that will be offered. 

Learn about wine and food pairings and support local businesses! (ish) is a personal favorite of mine and The Wine Feed is a great, fun place to go to pick up a bottle or two of wine.

Beyond the Book Children’s Book and Art Festival (Saturday) 

From 10-4 at Moore Square in Raleigh: Beyond The Book Children’s Book & Art Festival is a free outdoor family celebration of community, creativity, and storytelling. Discover author and illustrator workshops, interactive performances, collaborative art installations, creative crafts, talented vendors, artisan food, and inspiring entertainment. Join us for a day immersed in stories that will spark your imagination to experience children’s literature and art in a whole new way!
